Palmetto Bay is known as the “City of Parks” having many beautiful parks, schools and predominately half-acre properties throughout the community. Palmetto Bay is a quiet community well known for good, affordable home values, mostly single family homes, great activities for families with children and good public and private schools. Palmetto Bay is situated between US 1 and Biscayne Bay, making this a desirable area for boaters, jet skiers and the avid fisherman, with several marinas nearby for either docking or trailering a boat to launch at any number of boat ramps throughout the area.
Palmetto Bay was incorporated as it’s own village in 2002. Today is it well organized with strong leadership and a strong presence of its own police force–keeping the area and residents safe. The local government has made it a priority to establish and enforce building and zoning codes in order to make the community and homes more appealing and safe.
The public schools are some of the best rated in Miami-Dade County and some are also part of the Magnet program for excellence. These exceptional schools that are in the Palmetto Bay school district include Howard Drive, Coral Reef & Perrine Elementary, Southwood Middle and Palmetto Senior High Schools.
